THE NEW VOLVO S60 GETS NAUGHTY ON THE RACING TRACKS, WHILE
VOLVO POLESTAR REMAINS IN STCC-LEAD
THIS VOLVO S60 HAS GREAT POTENTIAL
On the track of Dijon, in France, Vincent Radermecker and
Eric van de Poele had their first taste of champagne for
their 2010 campaign. At the Belgian Touring Cars Series
Championship, Volvo S60 Racing finished on the podium in
both races. A promising result for the rest of the season.
van de Poele and Vincent Radermecker were obviously right
when they stated, only a few moments after driving the Volvo
S60 for the first time, that this car would lead them to
great results. This Saturday the drivers of Volvo S60 Racing
managed a double podium finish on the French track of Dijon.
"Before the start of the weekend, I would have signed with
both hands for this result", Vincent Radermecker smiled.
car still needs some improvements in the set-up", stated
Eric van de
Poele. "After all, it's only at the beginning of its racing
career. But the fact that it marveled in the rain, and that
we could lead for a long time in the wet, proves it has
undeniable road holding qualities. Not bad for a car that
has to compete in a championship in a country where it is
known to rain once in a while."
"A perfect result", added team manager Thomas Neri. "

VOLVO POLESTAR AND DAHLGREN LEAD THE TEAM AND DRIVER'S
The season's first Swedish Touring Car Championship took
place on a track that is very winding and narrow, and
therefore favors rear-wheel drive cars. Despite this fact,
the defending champions Volvo Polestar, Tommy Rustad and
Robert Dahlgren respectively won the first and second heat.
That puts Dahlgren in top of the driver's championship, and
Volvo Polestar on top in the team championship.
The first round of the season is completed. Two wins and one
pole position means Volvo has now claimed its fourth
consecutive race win and twelfth consecutive pole position -
Volvo Polestar has been quickest in all qualifying sessions
in STCC from the second to last race of the 2008 season.
With two second places in the second round, and another one
in the third round, Volvo Polestar remains in the STCC Team
and Driver lead.
season starts with three away games; three narrow twisty
tracks in a row - Jyllandsringen, Knutstorp and Karlskoga.
We are very satisfied with being in the lead at this stage
of the season" says team manager Christian Dahl.
Next race is on June 5, and on Volvo Polestar's home turf -
Gothenburg City Race Arena. Donít miss it!
